Morocco possesses a rich cultural heritage, which includes eight World Heritage sites and a series of traditional crafts that merit safeguarding.

The country boasts two Masterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity: The Cultural Space of Djamaa el-Fna Square and the Moussem of Tan-Tan. In the field of cultural industries, Morocco is striving to improve the status of books in the Maghreb countries.
In the framework of the Sahara Cultures and People project devoted to fighting poverty through sustainable development of tourism, several activities have been carried out in the Drâa Valley.
