Malta has three cultural sites on the World Heritage List.

One of these sites, the megalithic temples of Malta, was vandalized and required extensive restoration work, which was funded by UNESCO.
At present, climate change is threatening this site. The World Heritage Committee is studying the measures required to mitigate the repercussions of this threat.

An international campaign to safeguard these monuments and historical sites was undertaken between 1980 and 2000. The objectives and restoration work were described in a specially prepared brochure.

In the field of cultural policies and intercultural dialogue, Malta has demonstrated its commitment to interreligious dialogue and dialogue among civilizations.
