Federated States of Micronesia

Culture

    The Federated States of Micronesia and UNESCO cooperate in the framework of the Barbados Programme of Action (BPoA) for the Sustainable Development of Small Island Developing States.

    Wishing to prepare a tentative list of sites to be inscribed on the World Heritage List, Micronesia receives UNESCO’s support through the Pacific 2009 Programme. The country is in the phase of awareness-building and training in collaboration with other island States in the region.

    Micronesia is also attentive to arts education, safeguarding the intangible heritage and the role of museums in cultural policies.
