Cooperation between Uganda and UNESCO concerns world heritage first and foremost. The country has three sites inscribed on the World Heritage List, one of which, Rwenzori Mountains National Park, remained on the List of World Heritage in Danger for five years owing to the political instability in the region which hampered the implementation of conservation measures.
Uganda’s Tentative List includes several cultural sites; personnel are being trained with these in mind.
The barkcloth making was proclaimed a Masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity in 2005, and an action plan has been implemented to encourage the transmission of this know-how.
In the field of intercultural dialogue, Uganda participates in a project aimed at reinforcing interreligious women's associations.
