  • Champion for Sport
    UNESCO Champions for Sport are truly outstanding sport personalities, like Formula One World Champion Michael Schumacher, football legend Pelé, Olympic Judo Champion David Douillet, Olympic Champion in pole-vaulting Serhiy Bubka, the legendary hockey player Viatcheslav Fetisov, the Ukrainian Boxing Champions Vitaliy and Wladimir Klitschko and the currently WTA number one tennis player Justine Henin. This family of world-class athletes purveys UNESCO's message the world over. By the same token, they reflect UNESCO's concerns to promote the values of physical education and sports with a view of building a better future for younger generations.

    Currently, twelve personnalities were designated UNESCO Champion for Sport :
