L’éducation est la clé du développement de l’Afrique. Actuellement, un peu plus de la moitié des adultes d’Afrique sont alphabétisés et près de 60 % des enfants y sont scolarisés. L’UNESCO s’efforce de maintenir l’éducation en bonne place parmi les hautes priorités des gouvernements et des partenaires du développement dans la région. En collaboration avec son Institut international de renforcement des capacités en Afrique (IIRCA), l’UNESCO met en œuvre un large éventail de projets dans la région.
