On 16 and 17 November, UNESCO will host the 15^th edition of the International Encounters on New Philosophical Practices, in partnership with the Philolab association. This annual event is an opportunity to bring philosophy to a wider audience by tearing down the barriers of philosophy’s traditional venues and syles of discourse. Workshops are planned with children and adolescents, as well as panel discussions on topics such as philosophical cities or philosophy training.

A roundtable discussion entitled Speak up together for Tolerance will take place on 17 November, from 2pm to 5pm in Room II. It will focus on philosophical issues related to the concept of tolerance.

On the night of 18 to 19 November, 7pm to 7 am, UNESCO will open its doors to philosophy with a programme that will include concerts, dance, theatrical performances, debates, readings and lectures mobilizing 24 artists and 45 philosophers from around the world including, among others, Paul Boghossian, Barbara Cassin, Vincent Descombes, Maurizio Ferraris and Frédéric Nef.

A new UNESCO Chair on the practice of philosophy with children, established at the University of Nantes (France) will be launched on 18 November (9am to 12.30 pm, Room IV).

Also on 18 November, a roundtable on Teaching Aristotle will focus on methods of teaching the Greek philosopher’s thinking.
