UNESCO’s Regional Bureau for Science in Latin America and the Caribbean has just published a 325-page report on the major developments in the National Systems of Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) of Latin America since 1945. The report gives a general overview of the past 60 years before profiling the main developments in each country and analysing to what extent each has implemented the recommendations of the World Conference on Science organized by UNESCO and International Council for Science in 1999 in Budapest (Hungary).
