Media Education

Promoting research into, and an understanding of, the role and the effects of the media upon society, is the main aim of UNESCO’s programme in Media Education. It seeks new ways in which people can enhance their participation in the political and cultural life of the general community through the media.

Among the activities in SIDS regions is the continued promotion and testing in schools of a manual on Media Education in the Pacific: A Guide for Secondary School Teachers.
