About

ASPnet in Action: Global Citizens connected for Sustainable Development is an online collaborative platform dedicated to enhancing information and knowledge sharing among the UNESCO Associated Schools Network around the world. It aims to encourage interactive networking and participation of ASPnet teachers, students and experts to connect with their peers by exchanging about school-based initiatives and learning from their respective experiences.

The global network of UNESCO Associated Schools provides a strong framework to promote Global Citizenship, through flagship projects, school partnerships, the sharing of good practices and ideas as well as countless other activities carried out at the school, national, regional and international level.

Thus, this online platform aims to be an effective vehicle for inspiring continuous interactions and partnerships among the Network beyond borders to increase understanding of global citizenship education and to strengthen its teaching and learning in support of sustainable development.

The first phase of “ASPnet in Action”, launched in 2013, was about learning and exchanging on biodiversity. More than 450 students and teachers from 83 countries mobilized to take action to preserve our Planet. A video summarising the many projects and activities undertaken can be viewed here.

The second phase builds on this previous experience, and now focuses on global citizenship, keeping in mind that, when acting together, locally and globally, we can achieve a common, sustainable future.
