The country hosts the UNESCO Cluster Office Doha, which covers Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.

The first biosphere reserve in the country, Al-Reem Biosphere Reserve, was established in September 2007. It is particularly important for the protection of terrestrial and marine areas and wildlife of great value. Communities residing within the site have managed to preserve biological and cultural knowledge and methods while using modern technology to maintain their pastoral and agricultural traditions.

Below you can access the projects that are currently being implemented in the country within the framework of UNESCO’s Natural Sciences Sector.
