Développement du contenu

Stimuler le développement des divers contenus ainsi que leur accès est essentiel pour les sociétés du savoir
Développement du contenu

One essential area of action in this context is to identify and propose means to overcome existing language barriers to access information in cyberspace, including through the development and application of technologies and through widely available linguistically diverse content.

This includes building the capacities of professionals and policy-makers in this field.
Likewise, UNESCO will continue its support for the production, dissemination and preservation of culturally diverse content. Action will target public service broadcasters and ICT-based content producers to enable them to produce and disseminate programmes reflecting local views on major societal issues. The Programme for Creative Content, launched in 2002 in close collaboration with Major Programme I especially its Global Alliance for Cultural Diversity, has been instrumental in pursuing these objectives and implementing the relevant principles set forth in the Universal Declaration on Cultural Diversity.

Particular attention will be given to the role of the media in promoting dialogue among cultures and civilizations as well as peoples. The strategy will also include building capacities among media professionals to create content in unreported and under-reported areas, with special emphasis on MDG.
