1. Commercial sex workers (CSWs) HIV/AIDS and their life skills: an analytical study undertaken in Delhi

   This article is based on the research conducted by Delhi University in India under its Population Education Resource Centre programme. A questionaire was developed to collect information from nearly 150 Commercial Sex Workers of Delhi. It was an empercal study to know knowledge, awareness and behavioural change due to fear of HIV/AIDS and other secually transmitted infections. The research noticed lack of communication and negotiation skills among most of the CSWs, the possible loss oif income, lack of support, and external control are the reason for the lack of condom usage. …

2. Prevention of HIV/AIDS among migrant workers in Thailand (PHAMIT) : the baseline survey 2004

   The Baseline Survey 2004 was carried out as a part of the evaluation and monitoring of the Prevention of HIV/AIDS among Migrant Workers in Thailand (PHAMIT) project. It has provided a comprehensive overview of migrant populations and their related circumstances and behaviour. This survey was conducted during April-June 2004, and covered 3,426 male and female migrant workers from Myanmar, Cambodia and Lao People's Democratic Republic. Among other things, the survey finds that the prevalence of casual sexual relationship is very high among migrants. …

3. Breaking through the clouds : a Participatory Action Research (PAR) Project with migrant children and youth along the borders of China, Myanmar and Thailand

   A report on the Participatory Action Research (PAR) project implemented by Save the Children's Southeast & East Asia and the Pacific Regional Office during April 1999 to March 2001 with funding from the Department of International Development (UK). The PAR project is a new approach to learning, documenting and developing potential for change. The participants of PAR project strongly recommend this approach as an effective way to address sensitive issues to children and youth in vulnerable situations.

4. Prevention of HIV/AIDS through promotion of reproductive health in Myanmar

   The paper gives an account on the activities of UNICEF Myanmar supported "HIV/AIDS Prevention through the Promotion of Reproductive Health Project". The six project components described in the report are: life skills and HIV/AIDS including School-based Healthy Living and HIV/AIDS Prevention Education (SHAPE); STD care and management; UNAIDS partnership building; targeting high-risk groups and ethnic minorities; responsive and innovative activities such as working with religious groups; and monitoring and evaluation. …
