Education for Sustainable Development (ESD)

In the framework of the ESD, CSI platform developed locally based activities focusing on capacity development through 'learning by doing'. Initiatives include communities planning their own future development, groups sharing eco-friendly practices, youth promoting local languages in reaffirming their identity, and school children adopting a hands-on approach to addressing environmental issues.
Through Local and Indigenous Knowledge Systems (LINKS) project capacities are strengthened to record indigenous knowledge, elaborate pedagogical materials for intercultural education and develop advocacy tools to strengthen local voices in biodiversity governance, in rural and indigenous communities.
