In order to promote dialogue concerning the new roles and challenges of scientific knowledge within today’s global society, The Hungarian Academy of Sciences, in partnership with UNESCO, the International Council for Science (ICSU) and the European Commission organize World Science Forums which are held biannually in Budapest, Hungary.
Three science-related UNESCO Chairs have been established in Hungarian universities. These aim to upgrade and broaden scientific and technological knowledge, and promote networking and cooperation between high-level researchers in the fields of hydrogeology, environmental biology and engineering education.
Research and conservation initiatives are also being implemented within the framework of Hungary’s 5 biosphere reserves.
Below you can access the projects that are currently being implemented in the country within the framework of UNESCO’s Natural Sciences Sector.
