A State Party to the World Heritage Convention and the Convention for the Protection of Cultural Properties in the Event of Armed Conflict (the Hague Convention), Luxembourg attaches great importance to safeguarding the heritage on its territory, in Europe and throughout the world.

Two of its sites are inscribed on the World Heritage List. Luxembourg provided funds for the restoration of the Old Bridge in Mostar (Bosnia and Herzegovina) that was damaged by floods and also contributed to the founding of a photography laboratory in Angkor (Cambodia).
