Luxembourg

Luxembourg joined the Organization on October 27, 1947. Her Royal Highness Grand Duchess Maria Teresa of Luxembourg was appointed a UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador in 1997.

She is particularly active in supporting the cause of empowering women and promotes education for girls and women throughout the world. As of September 2006, Luxembourg has 4 schools participating in the UNESCO’s Associated Schools Project Network (ASPnet).
