Women in Science

Professor Elizabeth BLACKBURN, (United States of America). L'Oréal-UNESCO for North America. For the discovery of the nature and maintenance of chromosome ends and their roles in cancer and ageing. Through her pioneering work in the field of telomere biology, she has greatly contributed to advancing the understanding of aging and cancer at the level of our chromosomes.
