Antigua and Barbuda joined UNESCO on 15 July 1982. This Member State is covered by the UNESCO Office in Kingston, Jamaica.

Antigua and Barbuda, located in the West Indies, is composed of two main islands and several smaller islands. The country is participating in one of the Sustainable Development in Coastal Regions and Small Islands (CSI) programme’s projects aiming to promote integrated coastal management.

As a State Party to the World Heritage Convention, Antigua and Barbuda receives support from the Programme of Cultural Action for the Sustainable Development of Small Island Developing States.
