Cameroon

Cameroon - its Dja wildlife reservation is inscribed on the World Heritage List - is working with UNESCO to enhance conservation of the forest areas of Central Africa.

The country is endeavouring to draw up a Tentative List of potential sites.

The intangible heritage, in so far as it is represented by oral traditions related to the slave trade and slavery, is the subject of research and archiving in order to give it its proper place in the pages of history in a number of countries in Central Africa including Cameroon.

Cameroon is associated with the UNESCO/WTO project on the Slave Route in Africa which is intended to develop sites of memory to be developed for tourism.
