The country is covered by the UNESCO Cluster Office in Libreville, Gabon.

A UNESCO Chair of Environmental Education was established in 1998 at the National University of Equatorial Guinea in Malabo to promote an integrated system of research, education, information and documentation in the field of environment and environmental education.
