  • Children in Swaziland celebrate Education For All (EFA) Week

Swaziland joined UNESCO on 25 January 1978. The country is covered by the Organization's Regional Office in Windhoek, Namibia.

EDUCAIDS was launched in Swaziland in March 2006. Initial activities have focused primarily on advocacy and capacity building activities for the education sector.

Swaziland has one institution that is part of the UNEVOC network for technical education and professional training. A UNESCO Chair for women in science and technology was established at the University of Swaziland in 1995.

Swaziland/UNESCO cooperation also focuses on tangible and intangible heritage, intercultural dialogue, and handicrafts.
