Interaction with UNESCO and National Commissions
OverviewEven though still hesitant at joining the network of National Commissions, the DPRK National Commission nevertheless eagerly participated in the annual Meetings of Secretaries-General of the 5 National Commissions for UNESCO in East Asia (China, DPR Korea, Japan, Mongolia and Rep. Korea) in Beijing in 1998, in Ulaanbataar in 1999 and in Macau in 2000. The Commission also benefits from staff exchanges with both the National Commissions of Japan and China.
The UNESCO Offices in Beijing, Bangkok and Jakarta have been instrumantal in allowing the DPRK National Commission to participate in the implementation of some project activities.
