Quality in Cultural Heritage Management: Assessment Models and Methods 

This is the first international conference organized by Herity Italia since it became the initial national partner organization of the Herity International Committee in 2003. 
The conference’s aims are to:

1) allow for a broad international exchange of experience in the field of internal and external evaluation instruments to assess quality in the management of cultural heritage sites open to the public (i.e., monuments, museums, libraries, archives, archaeological sites, etc.) that have been developed and tested  in different contexts in different countries;

2) present the Herity approach to quality management of cultural heritage, its multi-purpose and multi-perspective Evaluation System (HGES), field results to-date and the state-of-the-art of the HERITY organization in Italy and abroad.

Speakers will include, amongst others, representatives from the following institutions and bodies:  Ministry of Cultural Heritage in Dubai (United Arab Emirates), European Centre for Total Quality Management (ECTQM), Bradford University (United Kingdom), The Holy See, the International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS), the International Centre for the Study of the Restoration and Preservation of Cultural Property (ICCROM), the Italian Ministry for Cultural Heritage, National Geographic, the Ministry of Cultural Heritage of the Sultanate of Oman, the World Monuments Fund, UNESCO World Heritage Centre, United Nations Environmental Programme, the World Tourism Organization and other HERITY partners.
