CUZCO - The Inca capital

UNESCO Guides- World Heritage (DVD)

Cuzco150.jpg
New series devoted to specific World Heritage sites, co-published by UNESCO Publishing, Planeta de Agostini and Ediciones San Marcos.

The guides include clear and enjoyable information written by local professionals so as to provide the visitor all the necessary elements to fully appreciate each site in its global dimension. Together with suggested itineraries, the guides include information on the history, culture and life of the people who used to live or still live in the site to this day.

The printed guide (pocket size, glossy paper, colour photographs) and a map of the site are accompanied by a high-quality DVD which will not only help to introduce and prepare the voyage but keep a lasting memory of it upon return.

Cuzco - The Inca capital is the first volume of the series. "Qosqo" was the heart, the very centre of the Andean world, the capital of Twantinsuyu, the so-called 'Empire' that extended over nine-tenths of western South America. On November 1533, the Spanish entered the city and in March 1534 the 'Spanish founding' of Cuzco took place under Francisco Pizarro, who named it 'the Most Noble and Great City of Cuzco'.
