The Creative Ecofactory, an initiative led by Santos in Brazil, a Creative City of Film, was awarded the 2017 iFSocial Impact Prize. The World Design Guide – organizer of the prize – awards outstanding projects that aim to contribute positive results to society.
From 8 to 10 December, the UNESCO Creative City of Film Santos will host the 6th edition of the CulturalMente Santista - Santos Cultural and Creative Forum. This year, this major cultural festival will be highlighting the United Nations Agenda 2030.
Santos, Brazil, a Creative City of Film, and Bandung, Indonesia, a Creative City of Design are coming together to organize the Santos Bandung Film Festival (SBFF) from 20 to 29 October 2017.
Broadcaster and campaigner Esther Rantzen will launch this year’s Golden Years Film Festival in Bradford, a UNESCO Creative City of Film. The six-day festival hosted by Bradford in partnership with Picturehouse at the National Science and Media Museum will run from Saturday 30 September.
Galway and Rome, UNESCO Creative Cities of Film, are developing a new inter-city partnership project to share knowledge and expertise amongst the students in Film and Documentary. Galway and Rome UCCN Offices were facilitating a new international student exchange programme between the Centre for Creative Arts & Media, Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology, and the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in Rome.

360 Vision 2017 is an invitation-only Virtual Reality Lab bringing together some of Australia’s best screen producers, directors, practitioners and artists to meet with key VR content creators and professionals for two days of inspiration, information and networking. Galway City of Film received a special invitation from its counterpart Sydney to attend the 360 Vision event held in April along with Galway-based filmmaker Paula Kehoe.

Busan invites the UNESCO Creative Cities of Film to nominate one filmmaker from each city to participate in a three week collaborative filmmaking residency. From 24 April to 11 May, this inter-city session featuring cinematic representatives from the other Creative Cities of Film will be a unique opportunity to display the collaborative spirit and unity that bonds together the members of the Network.
Open to all members of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network, the theme of the 2017 edition of Bradford’s Small World Film Festival is “My City”.    In this framework, the Creative City of Film calls for the UCCN members to submit a short film about their city, meeting the following instructions:   The short films should not exceed a maximum of 6-minute length;
