The country is covered by the UNESCO Cluster Office in Nairobi, Kenya.
The country is involved in several environmental conservation initiatives. One such initiative is the Great Apes Survival Project (GRASP), the 1st concerted approach ever developed to face a major extinction crisis.
Rwanda is also taking part in the Pan-African Network for a Geoscience Information System (PANGIS), allowing for efficient geoscientific information management and improved access to data in 33 African countries.
