LA ORGANIZACIÓN

UNESCO activities are structured according to two main dimension: firstly, the ethical and standard-setting dimension, and secondly, that of research, policy-making, action in the field and future-oriented activities, the latter being required to play a key role in preparing the UNESCO World Report.

The Social and Human Sciences Sector, together with other programmes, will ensure the Organization's participation in the follow-up to the major international conferences, in particular those of Budapest on science, Rio and Johannesburg on sustainable development, Copenhagen on social development and Istanbul on cities.
