1. Our rights matter too: sexual and reproductive health and rights of young key populations in Asia and the Pacific

   This regional report for Asia and the Pacific, provides an overview of the sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) needs, issues, and priorities of young key populations (YKP), i.e. young men who have sex with men, young transgender people, young people injecting drugs, young people who sell sex, and young people living with HIV. The report addresses the gaps in knowledge on the SRHR needs of YKP in the region, offers recommendations based on a regional study, and contributes essential information for policy and advocacy efforts.

2. Lessons learned from a review of interventions for adolescent and young key populations in Asia Pacific and opportunities for programming

   BACKGROUND: Over a third of new HIV infections globally are among 15-24 year-olds and over 20% among adolescents aged 10-19 years in Asia Pacific. 3. Impact of five years of peer-mediated interventions on sexual behavior and sexually transmitted infections among female sex workers in Mombasa, Kenya

   Background: Since 2000, peer-mediated interventions among female sex workers (FSW) in Mombasa Kenya have promoted behavioural change through improving knowledge, attitudes and awareness of HIV serostatus, and aimed to prevent HIV and other sexually transmitted infection (STI) by facilitating early STI treatment. Impact of these interventions was evaluated among those who attended peer education and at the FSW population level. 4. The Role of Nonformal Education in Combating the HIV Epidemic in the Philippines and Taiwan

   This study compares the approaches of Taiwan and the Philippines in mitigating their HIV epidemics using non-formal educational programs. The Philippines has an HIV prevalence of 6,000-11,000 cases out of a population of 91 million. Their approach was to target female sex workers and their managers, before expanding to men in the community, and relying heavily on NGOs to provide sex education.
