Internal Workshop on the Role of Foresight in Programming (17 September 2008)

Foresight

    On 17 September 2008 a Secretariat workshop was held on the role of foresight in programming that gathered all UNESCO Programme sectors and other Secretariat units concerned. This workshop aimed at sensitizing the colleagues of the Programme sectors about the potential role and contribution of foresight in programming and on approaches, methodologies and tools to be used.

    The conclusions and recommendations of the Foresight Meeting of 7 July 2008 served as guidance in identifying means to integrate a foresight dimension into strategies and in programme design by the Programme sectors.

    Separate meetings will be held in January with each Programme Sector so as to identify their needs and advice on possible foresight-based approaches.
