PORSCHE donates 50,000 euros to UNESCO-Sony Ericsson WTA Tour Partnership for Gender Equality
The landmark global Sony Ericsson WTA Tour partnership, formed in November 2006, is designed to further gender equality and promote women’s leadership in all spheres of society with the involvement of leading female professional tennis players.

24 May 2007, UNESCO, PARIS, FrancePorsche, one of the world’s leading automotive companies and a longstanding supporter of women’s professional tennis, announced today a donation in the amount of €50,000 to benefit the partnership formed between the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization UNESCO (UNESCO) and the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour, the governing body of the world’s leading global sport for women.

UNESCO, and its Division specifically devoted to women’s empowerment and gender equality, is committed to mainstreaming gender equality considerations in all its programmes, globally and at the country level.
