14-11-2008 (UNESCO) - To broaden their knowledge on the different aspects and issues related to world heritage, thirty young people from sixteen countries gathered in Quebec, Canada, during the 32nd session of the World Heritage Committee, held from 21 June to 10 July 2008. The event was organized by Parks Canada and the Canadian Commission for UNESCO.

Along the years, this event became the "French Open for youngsters of 14 years old and less…". This year's tournament will take place from 7 to 13 July in Paris, France.

19-06-2008 (Quartiers du Monde) - With UNESCO's support and in partnership with the UNESCO Venice Chair “Social and Spatial Inclusion of Migrants: Urban Policies and Practices”, the European and African teams of the association Quartiers du Monde (i.e. Neighborhoods of the World) have worked for 8 months on a participative research-action on migrations. In order to compare and analyze their first results, the international coordination team of this project organizes a regional youth meeting in Sale, Morocco, 29 June-3 July 2008.

The meeting, organized by UNESCO, will showcase community-based projects and best practices that constructively engage youth and foster conditions that provide young people with positive options for their own future.

12-02-2008 (UNESCO) - UNESCO participated in the 1st Forum of the Alliance of Civilizations (AoC) which took place in Madrid (Spain) from 15 to 16 January 2008. UNESCO was actively associated to the part devoted to Youth. Two sessions specifically devoted to youth issues were organized during this Forum, one on youth and the media, and the second on youth and intercultural dialogue.
