Giving a chance to young artists – an homage to sculptor Minoru KanoAttracted by roman art when he was very young, Kano first reproduced and revisited this art. He then developed his own style, distinguishing himself by simple lines and pure forms.

In addition to the artistic talent of the sculptor, this exhibition allows to highlight Minoru Kano’s action in favor of the youth. Through the practice of his art, Minoru Kano never ceased to promote creativity and to transmit to youth the passion of artistic expression, important pillar of youth development. Through his support, he also made possible for several young artists to make their place within the artistic sphere.

Minoru Kano’s action directly reflects the objective of youth empowerment promoted by Social and Human Sciences Sector. Convinced that youth are not only future leaders but also present key actors, UNESCO seeks to enable youth to fully participate in the building of their society as agents of social transformation.

“Kano – son chemin”, Exhibition opened from 8 au 12 December 2008, from 9 A.M. to 5.30 P.M., UNESCO House, 7 Place de Fontenoy - 75007 Paris, ID requested.
