Gimnazija Metković,  founded in 1954, is a member of UNESCO ASPnet and Environment online project and it is a modern, well-equipped school with 440 students. It offers  broad education and establishes a network of knowledge and skills as a basis for students’ future education and lifelong learning process, following the rhythm of modern technological advances. The school curriculum, as well as optional programmes and extracurricular activities, enable our students  development of their potentials and creativity, especially through team work on various projects on an international level, putting into practice intercultural learning. The school, with its high  pedagogical standard, prepares young people for integrating into social life (social responsibility and solidarity, democratic attitudes, civil rights, conflict resolution,  communication skills). In a friendly atmosphere and cooperative work, teachers give support to their students, identifying their individual values and needs and helping them overcome difficulties and develop their potentials. Students also participate in social life of the local community through the Students’ Council  activities (environmental protection, humanitarian work, non-violent protests…)
