    1-School Wall Newspaper Pilot Project in 12 schools

    Outcomes

  • 12 Teachers trained on Wall Newspaper production and students coaching
  • 60 students (30 boys and 30 girls) trained on school wall newspaper production
  • Impact on the quality approach on learning outcomes improved among students
  • Impact on teachers' approach on teaching outcomes improved
  • Iran MoE approved the pilot project for making in at national level
  • 30 pages guidelines in Farsi language produced and disseminated in 5,000 schools by Iran MoE
  • 12 schools awarded jointly by UNESCO and Iran MoE
  • 2-Production of the main GMR-2010 report in Farsi (500 pages) in cooperation with Paris Head Quarters

    Outcomes

  • For the third time since 2008, the whole GMR annual report fully translated and adapted into Farsi
  • 500 printed versions and 1,000 CDs produced and disseminated by Iran MoE among policy and decision makers as well as experts at national and provincial levels
  • GMR Farsi launched officially in Tehran jointly by UNESCO and Iran MoE at the same day simultaneously with its English version in New York by UNESCO DG and UN Sec Gen
  • GMR Farsi shared with Afghanistan and Tajikistan as Farsi spoken countries

    3-Organization of two parallel intensive training sessions by four trainers and experts from UNESCO Institutes of Statistics (UIS) in Tehran in December 2010, on "Statistical Capacity Development for Systematic Monitoring of EFA", and "Capacity Development for Science & Technology Statistics"

    Outcomes

  • Excellent cooperation between main stakeholders Iran Presidential Office, Iran MoE, NatCom and UNESCO
  • 55 Iran planners from Ministry of Education and Ministry of Science, research and Technology at national and provincial levels trained
  • Iran recognized formidable UNESCO and UIS contribution and wished to enhance such type of cooperation

    4-In cooperation with Kabul Office, one-month "Intensive Training on TVE Curriculum Development in Iran for twenty (20) Curriculum Developers from the Ministry of Education of Afghanistan"

    Outcomes

  • The second time that such a training is organized by UNESCO Tehran in cooperation with Kabul Office since 2008
  • 20 Afghan TVE curriculum developers trained;
  • 4 manuals developed during the trainings
  • Electronic format of the contents prepared for rending it shared through WEB by other Afghan teachers

    5-EFA Global Week celebrated collegially in cooperation with Iran MoE and NatCom and related education official institutions April 2010

    Outcomes

  • Production of 5,000 posters in Farsi for EFA Global Week mentioning the 1Goal and disseminated in the schools (with UNESCO, MoE and NatCom logos);
  • Visit of 7 schools in the City of Tehran and suburbs mainly in deprived districts (19-26 April);
  • Round-Table on “Together for Moving Forward for Quality” on 20 April bringing together with UNESCO, 30 representatives from the President Office, Supreme Council of Cultural Revolution, Supreme Council of Education, Parliament, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Science research and technology, Secretary General of National Commission, Academics and experts;
  • Half-a-day meeting (26 April) on the “EFA and Where Iran is Standing Quality Wise”: with the participation of the Deputy-Minister in Charge of Basic Education, Director General of Bureau for International Scientific Cooperation (BISC); Director of Budgets and Plans from President Office, Representative of the Literacy Movement Organization, Coordinator of TIMSS and PIRLS,
  • Half-a-Day meeting (26 April) in Tehran University in cooperation with UNESCO Chair for Quality Assurance on “The role of Universities for Improving Quality in Education System” with the participation of 200 academics and Ph.D. students.
