2006: first meeting of the United Nations System Chief Executives Board for Coordination (CEB)

The first regular session for 2006 of the United Nations System Chief Executives Board for Coordination (CEB) took place in Madrid, Spain, from 7 to 8 April 2006.

This session was devoted, among other subjects, to the follow-up to the 2005 World Summit, and to gender mainstreaming and women, peace and security.

The retreat focused on the issues before the Panel on System-wide Coherence in the areas of development, humanitarian assistance and the environment and included a dialogue with some of the Panel members.

The Director-General, Mr Koichiro Matsuura, was represented by Mr Hans d’Orville, Director of the Bureau of Strategic Planning, at the regular session and by Mr Marcio Barbosa, Deputy Director-General, at the Retreat.
