  Millions of children around the world are deprived of the right to education. The result: One out of three children never see the inside of a classroom. UNESCO works with national governments and development partners to achieve universal free primary education and gender equality by 2015.

One in Two: Children are the Key to Africa’s Future

More than half of Africa’s population are children. However, the implications of this unique demography have yet to be acted upon by the world’s governments. Africa will not be able to escape a cycle of decline unless its children are given access to education, healthcare and protection.
