The country is covered by the UNESCO Cluster Office in Windhoek, Namibia.
The country has limited supplies of safe water, and other environmental challenges exist: overhunting of wildlife populations, soil erosion, and soil degradation. Swaziland’s poverty looms large, and the country is currently attempting to promoting education, science, and research in order to create a more highly trained and qualified work force. A UNESCO Chair for women in science and technology was established at the University of Swaziland in 1995.
