<p>The purpose of these Guidelines is to encourage companies and organisations to introduce workplace programmes to reduce the spread and impact of HIV and AIDS, and to guide them in the practical steps for doing so. The Papua New Guinea Business Coalition on HIV and AIDS (BAHA) is the main organisation already working with the private sector to develop workplace policies tailored to the needs of each company. These LCCI Guidelines are intended to support the work of BAHA in two ways. They can help to raise awareness among employers of the need to create their own workplaces policies, and they can assist companies and organisations to sustain their efforts at implementation once their policy has been adopted.</p>
