As a new effort to support the reconstruction of the Education System in Afghanistan and in order to promote South-South cooperation, UNESCO Offices in Kabul and Tehran work with the Ministry of Education (MoE) of I. R. of Iran to organize a four-week “Technical & Vocational Education (TVE) Curriculum Development for 21 Education Planners and Experts, of whom 4 are female specialists, from Afghanistan Ministry of Education” in Tehran from 17 July to 12 August 2010. The first training of the kind was organized in 2008 for 25 experts from Afghanistan which was considered successful.
The undergoing training is led by Mr. Abdullah KOZABI, Acting Director of Curriculum Directorate of I.R of Afghanistan Ministry of Education. This training is focusing on Analysis Methods, Designing Phase, Development of Curriculum, Implementation and finally Evaluation of each 5 major steps in curriculum development process. In addition as a reference, the information and data used for this workshop will be electronically formatted and accessible by the teachers in Afghanistan.
This training was officially opened on 18 July 2010 at Shahid Mahdavi School Complex with the Presence of Hojatol-Eslam Mohammadian, Deputy Minister in charge of Curriculum, Textbooks and Research in Iran MoE, Dr. Gholamreza Karimi Deputy of Center for International cooperation and Schools abroad, and Mr. Qunli Han the Representative and Director of UTCO as well as officials from the Embassy of I.R. of Afghanistan.
