Vietnamese Practices related to the Việt beliefs in the Mother Goddesses of Three Realms receive inscription on UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity

Viet Nam, 5 December 2016 – The Practices related to the Việt beliefs in the Mother Goddesses of Three Realms was among the sixteen new elements that have been inscribed to the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH). The inscription followed the decisions adopted by the Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the ICH during its 11th meeting in Ethiopia.

Phuc Giang School woodblocks listed in the Memory of the World Asia - Pacific Regional Register

Ha Tinh, 25 September 2016 - The woodblocks of Phuc Giang School, in the central province of Ha Tinh are registered as Documentary Heritage by the Memory of the World Committee in Asia-Pacific (MOWCAP) for its importance and influence on national education from the middle of the 18th to the early 20th centuries.

On his visit to UNESCO, Viet Nam’s Prime Minister pledges reinforced cooperation with the Organization

Paris, 1 December – Nguyen Tan Dung, Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam paid an official visit to UNESCO Headquarters on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Organization. This is the first ever visit to UNESCO by a Vietnamese Head of Government since this Member State joined the Organization in 1951.
