Akzhan Zhaksybekuly Mashani était un scientifique qui a travaillé dans le domaine des sciences de la Terre (géologie, géomécanique et géométrie de la Terre), de l'histoire, des études orientales et de la philologie. Il est connu aussi comme chercheur spécialiste d'Al-Farabi dont les travaux représentent une contribution importante à l'ensemble de la région d'Asie centrale.
