يدعو اليوم العالمي لحرية الصحافة لعام 2017، إلى تحري الدقة في كل ما نتلقاه من وسائل الإعلام، ومساندة الصحافة الحرة والمستقلة وعالية الجودة من أجل تحسين مجتمعاتنا. ويأتي اليوم هذه السنة تحت عنوان "عقول نيرة في الأوقات الحرجة: دور وسائل الإعلام في بناء مجتمعات أكثر عدلاً وسلاماً وانفتاحاً على الجميع"،
