Development of thematic training modules to foster capacity-building of actors in charge of teacher training in Mali
Bamako, Mali, March 9-13, 2015
The “Development of thematic training modules for capacity-building of actors in charge of teacher training” technical workshop falls within the scope of the “Capacity-building of teacher training facilities in Mali” project. This project, initiated in 2010, is in turn part of the wider capacity-building programme designed to reach the goals of Education for All (CapEFA).
The workshop will be held from March 9 to 13, 2015 at the Grand Hôtel in Bamako and will aim to develop 4 thematic training modules on:
- the didactics of reading, writing and mathematics;
- inspection, supervision, support and counselling ;
- School crisis and post-crisis management;
- assessment of student performance. The modules to be developed will later be used during intensive training of teachers from Teacher Training Institutes (IFM), inspectors, directors of Pedagogical Animation Centers (DPAC) as well as pedagogical counselors.
The workshop will bring together around 30 officials and technicians from different directorates in charge of initial and continuous training of teachers in the formal, non-formal, technical and vocational training of the Malian Ministry of National Education, as well as experts from UNESCO, the Malian National Commission for UNESCO and technical and financial partners, active in the Education sector in Mali.
This meeting is organized by the UNESCO office in Bamako, in collaboration with the Malian Ministry of National Education.
