Celebrating the opening and running of Barkhoden secondary school for Syrian refugees in Barikat camp, Kurdistan Region of Iraq
Under the Japan funded project to expand secondary education for Syrian refugees in Iraq, representatives of the Ministry of Education of the Kurdistan Regional Government, local administration, the United Nations and service providers, together with the school community, will celebrate the opening and running of Barkhodan secondary school in Barikat camp.
UNESCO along with representatives from the Ministry of Education from the Kurdistan Regional Government will celebrate the opening of the rehabilitated Barkhodan Secondary School for Syrian Refugees in Barikat Camp.
The ceremony will also be attended by UN personnel, local camp management and administration, in addition to the teachers, students, parents and local notables. The school will accommodate 350 students in one shift, and will be the first secondary school to open in Barikat Camp.
