United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP20)
The United Nations Climate Change Conference is an expert meeting and a technical conference that comprises the 20th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and the 10th session of the Conference of the Parties serving as the Meeting of the Parties to the Kyoto Protocol under the UNFCCC.
Side events are a vital component of this annual gathering of the international community, as they provide opportunities for information dissemination, capacity building and policy discussions.
UNESCO and its Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission both participate in the Conference of the Parties as observers, providing assistance when appropriate towards a successful conference outcome. They are also involved in a wide range of events relating to their domains of activities.
