Promotional meeting of the UNESCO-Sharjah Prize for Arab Culture

-

In the framework of the 4th World Forum for Intercultural Dialogue (Baku, Azerbaijan, 5-6 May 2017), UNESCO will organize a promotional meeting for the UNESCO-Sharjah Prize for Arab Culture on 6 May 2017. UNESCO will pay tribute to the recent winners of the Prize, Bahia Shebab and el Seed.

The meeting will consist of a panel discussion by renonwed artists on the theme "Contribution of Contemporary Arab Artistic Creations to Intercultural Dialogue", followed by a musical performance of Naseer Shamma (Oud) and Shahriyar (Tar).

The UNESCO-Sharjah Prize for Arab Culture, established in 1998, rewards each year two lauréates – personalities, groups or institutions – who have strived through their work and outstanding accomplishments to disseminate a greater knowledge of Arab art and culture.
