Presentation of the certificates of the first winners of the “Train my generation” project
After the launch of its training courses in 2014, the “Train my generation - Gabon 5000” project will hand over the certificates of its first winners. The ceremony will be under the patronage of the President of the Republic, Head of State, His Excellency Ali Bongo Ondimba.
As a result of the partnership between UNESCO and the mobile phone company AIRTEL Gabon SA, the program "Train my generation - Gabon 5000" aims to train more than 5,000 Gabonese and Gabonese young people in information and communication technologies for a period of three years. The initiative is entirely financed by AIRTEL Gabon.
The program consists of four components:
• Computer-based training;
• Educational support through distance learning (E-learning);
• Support for youth entrepreneurship;
• The support of trades through training grants in specialized fields.
The signing of the fund agreement took place on 16 October 2014 in Paris at the UNESCO headquarters, between Mr Olivier-Hervé NJANPOUM and Mrs Irina BOKOVA, respectively Director General of AIRTEL Gabon and Director-General of UNESCO.
For its implementation, it foresees the creation of 11 sites in the main cities of Gabon. The creation of a center is done by setting up technical training platforms based on a fleet of at least 24 computers with the necessary programs and accessories.
