Sixth Session of the Meeting of States Parties to the 2001 Convention on the Protection of the Underwater Cultural Heritage

The sixth session of the Meeting of States Parties to the Convention on the Protection of the Underwater Cultural Heritage will take place at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris on 30 and 31 May 2017 (Fontenoy building, Room II). It will be followed by the eighth meeting of the Scientific and Technical Advisory Body on 1 June (Room IV).
The main issues to be discussed during the sixth Meeting of States Parties to the 2001 Convention are:

-Election of six members of the Scientific and Technical Advisory Body,

-Follow-up of the recommendations of the scientific and Technical Advisory Body,

-Evaluation of examples of best practice in the protection of the Underwater Cultural Heritage,

-Consideration of the adoption of the ratification and implementation strategy and follow-up actions,

-Underwater Cultural Heritage in emergency situations,

-Evaluation and accreditation of Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs)
