Sin embargo, es tan solo un sistema de conocimientos entre muchos. Muchos de los otro sistemas de conocimiento incluyen una diversidad de culturas y sostienen un expectro de formas de vida remarcable, además de constituir una herencia intelectual rica y diversa cuya importancia para obtener los objetivos de desarrollo internacionales, incluyendo las Metas de Desarrollo del Milenio (MDGs), continúa siendo subestimada.
